Combining systemic HRT (oestrogen) with Tegretol?

Have any of you done the above? I have been on Tegretol for many years but the dose is gradually being reduced because I am seizure free (after surgery many years ago).
Has anyone on Tegretol tried taking systemic HRT? If so, which type?  I am using local (Vagifem) now but am not sure whether I would be able to try systemic. My reason for taking it would be to help aching calves/feet/joints.
