FSH level
« on: September 29, 2018, 05:05:21 PM »

Hi ladies
My FSH level is 98. Doctor said I am definitely post menopausal. I have not got much faith in what doctors say after being messed around with them since this hell began in may. Is this level very high?

This level is high but FSH levels can go into the post-menopausal range even while you are still peri. All it tells you is that you are peri-menopausal. Usually cyclical changes and age + symptoms are sufficient to diagnose menopause but if you have no womb, are on mini-pill or Mirena then you wont know what your cycle is doing so tests can help.

What is your reason for getting tested and are there symptoms you need help with? Maybe you are under 45 and heading for an earlier than average menopause for which HRT would be indicated anyway?

I had the mirena coil fitted, it was due to be changed so they did the test then. My problems started when I had it changed, huge anxiety, panic attacks, dizzy spells, foggy brain like living in a different world. I have since had it removed but still have these symptoms but not as severe. Now on elleste duet 1mg but due to change to patches, fem7 due to family history of dvt. So sick of it now. Also hrt has given me migraines which a I have also never had prior to this hell! Xx
