Groin and leg pain anyone
« on: August 28, 2018, 01:05:24 PM »

Hello lovely ladies .. has anyone else had bad leg pain sometimes accompanied by groin pain ?  ( right side for me ) had this for about a year, but has got worse, especially when have a period.  Am thinking .. is it a fibroid pushing on a nerve ? Is it my ovaries ? Have booked a private scan for next month  as doctor wasnt too bothered and last scan i had a year ago shown nothing. Just wondered if anyone else has had this . Its quite painful . Tia x .

Pain in the groin can be from the hip.  'hip' pain is from the back.

As oestrogen levels drop off, muscles may become lax = aches and pains.  Have you taken any over-the-counter pain relief?

Mothercare [the baby shop] have gone out of business  :-\

Let us know how you get on.  "work" - without any recent X-rays can be dangerous.

Well mothercare must own another business apart from the high street shops, because thats who i googled and “ultrasound direct” was who i booked the scan through .( recommended on here by a couple of ladies )
The physio i saw wasnt some back street mumbo jumbo crazy woman but a highly qualified fascia release expert who i totally trust, and it was her that mentioned maybe having a scan. Physios dont work from xrays all the time initially , but from symptoms and pain, and if its not resolved, would usually recommend patient goes to get an xray /scan x

That's the wrong way round.  No one can 'see' abnormalities or problems without films.  I have personal experience of knowing someone who, without X-rays, would have been paralysed if a physio had done any 'work' which is why it concerns me that practitioners still do procedures without film.

How's it all today?  Let us know how you get on.

The hip and pelvis area have a lot of nerves and blood vessels going through.  We think of hip pain as over the outer area but that is usually from the back, hip pain is in the groin.  Can't remember why  :D.

Daisydot - I suspect that the oesteopena is the reason for your pains.  What did the person who did the scan suggest?

I had 'dexa' scans years ago on my ankles, the best place due to the depth of bone, is pelvis and hips.  I also have sciatica, due to not kneeling when filling laundry and dishwasher or when putting dogs' leads on/off  ::)

Thank you for your comments ladies. I will bear in mind the dexa scan if all comes back ok with ultra sound .. thank you Daisydot ! Funny enough when i first went for treatment with said physio she told me straight away that my pelvis was out of line .. this she corrected with fascia release .. but it hasnt helped long term with the leg pain and groin pain  and hence her recommendation for a scan. Will let you know how i get on . I know i have numerous fibroids so am thinking it could be one or more pressing on a nerve ?? Will post update xx

'out of line' explains what exactly?  Bad foot wear can cause back pain etc. causing the body to compensate = aches and pains.  We shouldn't have evolved upright  ::)

Thank you Daisydot . I had two big babies one being a ten pound  son and i am only five foot ! So yes completely agree. My physio is £55 for an hour so i know what you mean .. but when you are in pain it becomes irrelevant ! One thing  i have learnt on this meno journey is to listen to my body and my gut feelings !! Ive had a few “straight “ talking conversations with my gp 😂 Thanks for your support x

Hi, I had terrible leg pains and iron tablets helped  from GP as my iron was low. I came off them and leg pains were bad again. Gone back on them now and leg pain is much better.

Thank you pepperminty... would never have thought of low iron 🤔 . Might mention it at doctors because come to think of it , i am quite tired. But still wouldnt explain the groin pain 🙁 would it ?? Today, along with the groin and leg, my back has really started nipping . Just feel miserable 🙁 But thank you x

I had severe pain in my right hip and in my groin  every time my period was due, physio couldn't do anything for me, as it's down to a bursitis and nerves touching each other when they swell.  My gp and I waited as we knew I was peri at the time, and sure enough when periods stopped so did the hip pain, unfortunately it's back because I have started bleeding on HRT so hoping once HRT sorted hip will be pain free.  I found that a massage really helped that and co- codamol when really bad.  Hope u get it sorted soon.
