I tried it and it was great for libido and reducing meno symptoms.  Well worth trying.  Unfortunately it gave me acne - (I am very prone to getting spots) but many women do really well on Livial (Tibolone).  You do need to be post meno though.  Give it a go. DG x

daisy - if you have had a hysterectomy, you don't need progesterone so you could just use Oestrogel instead - Tibolone(Livial) is for ladies who have not had a byster. You could possibly have Livial as I believe some gynaes do prescribe it for ladies without a womb but I'd try Oestrogel first.   You simply apply the gel to inner thighs each morning or evening (which ever is more convenient) let it dry for 10 mins and that's it!! The only down side is you shouldn't have close skin contact( with application area) with your partner for 1-2 hours after application.  DG x

You could do the gel but do one dose in the morning and one in the evening? If you suffer with headaches then transdermal is recommended. Have you tried going down to one pump per day?  I found I did very well with a very low dose - so maybe you are like me and do better with lower doses. DG x

You can have Tibolone even if you've had a hysterectomy, I was prescribed it by a consultant.

My problem was it didn't balance my hormones and so I tried half a tablet but my night sweats came back

One thing I didn't try was Tibolone plus some oestrogel, I didn't think to

It's always worth giving it a try, if it works it's great x

I've been on livial for 18 months and it's great for libido. I'm 60 and started bleeding, probably caused by the livial.  Now I'm having a scan and hysteroscopy and off hrt till they find the cause.  I'm not happy about it.

Just want to thank you for mentioning this before DG, as I feel you have truly helped me. I am finding my headaches vastly improved since returning to transdermal, but now better for me with gel than the patches.  Invaluable info for daily headache sufferers.

Daisie, it's interesting that you say you think that the gel gives you a hit and goes into your system fast, as I agree - I feel the gel worked almost instantly for me it was incredible.  I think it's very obvious the gel is working for me as my boobs were slightly tender for the first time in years on day 2 of using it.  Sorry to hear it gave you a migraine though.  Good luck getting sorted!  We will get there, this site is so helpful.  8)
