Hi Ladies,  I've been on Femeston 2/10 mg for a good few years & apart from the monthly bleeds which I can do without at this stage of my life, I'm 56 years old.  I've been thinking of changing to the Mirena coil and possibly add estrogen by way of tablet form.   Just wondering if this is a wise move?    Femeston 2/10 use to suit me but for a long while now,  I'm getting anxiety/panic attacks, can literally feel my heart thumping in my chest and also terrible noise sensitivity which is awful.

Has anyone had this experience or changed to Mirena coil from another form of HRT and found it better?

You should be able to change to femoston Conti, but it is a lower dose than the one you are on.

Thanks Dotty for the reply but the estrogen levels are lower than what I'm currently on so that's no good to me.

You can add oestrogen to the Femoston Conti.

I didn't know that,  So what you're saying is that go to my Doctor and ask for Femeston Conti and also ask for estrogen tablet as extra.  ??  Are there particular brands of estrogen that compliment Femeston Conti?   I know my doctor isn't very well up on knowledge with HRT so I like to go as prepared as possible with all the information.

Have you thought of changing to Oestrogel and Utrogestan?

I can't comment on Mirena as I've never had one.

No I'm not too informed with those.  Femeston 2/10 mg suited me for a long time & I'm kind of keeping with that brand without the bleed and praying it will suit.

Good afternoon ladyunlaoised

If you have used the Mirena before without any problems this would probably be your best option you may get some spotting when its first fitted but it does settle down then you only need to add Estrogen in either as a tablet patch or gel.
Erratic bleeding is not uncommon when you first use any conti product.

Thanks ..... I'm going to try the Femeston Conti with extra estrogen first I think.  If that isn't suiting - I'm tempted to go down the route of having a Mirena coil fitted & supplement it with estrogen.    Just hoping the progesterone in the coil will agree with my body & take away the anxiety levels also.

Hi I'm new here. I've just had a pretty traumatic hysteroscopy to remove 2 cysts. A mirena coil was fitted and I was told to stop everol conti patches, but carry on with 2 pumps of oestrogel. That was Thursday. 4 days later I am beginning to feel like I did before hrt. Angry, forgetting words, tearful etc. I'm worried it's not enough. Any advice or comparable stories? Thankyou
