Pain in left breast
« on: July 16, 2018, 07:29:13 PM »

Hi ladies, hope you're all well.
I've had an almost constant pain in my left breast for a few weeks now.
I was on oestrogel/Mirena but switched back to patches 100mcg/Mirena as symptoms just didn't get under control. Feel so much better now but just s big worried about the pain in my left upper outer breast. I can't feel an obvious lump and I have been for breast screening / years ago and prior to that for lumpy dense tissue in my breast (left mostly) but not usually an area of pain and no follow up required after a thorough exam. I've had the usual breast pain when trialling different hrts but been mostly settled for a while.
It's almost a case of feeling the DRs will say “oh god not her again” if I book another appointment!!
I reckon I must know their shoe sizes by now!!
Any advice/similar experiences?
I need to ask for a smaller size patch to use as I've got through nearly 2 months worth in this heat, the everol 100mcg are like dinner plates! Any suggestions for that also please?
Thanks ladies in advance. Currently lying on my bed cooking in the heat!! It almost rained earlier, a few drops then stopped 😩 x

This might sound stupid but are your bras the right size. Check out the simple stuff because that's what it often is. Also could be muscular. However, as you have had this for some time and is causing you worry, I would get it checked. Put your mind at rest.

Hi Optimist,

Just to say I have been experiencing pain in the same area, noticeably since Mirena, er,  'installed' in December. On holiday at the moment and the other night OH and I were in tent trying to decide whether or not either of us could feel a lump. Inconclusive but we did have a good laugh. I have an appt when we get home just to be sure.

Also have had burning feeling, sense of someone pinching and twisting my nipple which seemed to start around same time as my acid reflux. I think ladies on here have reported similar.

Hope it's helpful to know you're not alone.

Hi ladies thanks for your responses. Strangely first thing I did was check my bras were fitting okay ShadyGlade and also bought sports bras for running. Didn't even think about it coinciding with Mirena! Ban-sithe, I think I'll have to pluck up courage and book an appointment, stupid but my biggest fear is being told to stop the hrt!! 😱glad you had fun searching though 😉. Hope it's all okay.
Jeaniewigs. That's pants!! Have you tried tablets or patches? I also use vagifem about 3-4 times a week but the pain only started around 2/3 months ago and I've been using it since last year now and it really helps. Hope you get sorted.
I will book an appointment thanks ladies 😊 xx

Thanks jeaniewigs same to you too. Just a thought, maybe a break off all as consultant states then start to reintroduce vagifem and see if that in its own helps a bit? Maybe a bit further down the line, reintroduce the gel at a low dose to see if helps with your bones and maybe your burning mouth etc won't return 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼 X
