Welcome.

As oestrogen levels drop off so muscles may become lax = aches and pains.  Sciatica is often due to bad posture, it happens to me if I fail to kneel when filling/emptying the dishwasher or laundry machines, if I fail to kneel when putting the dogs' collars/leads on, when gardening etc..

If it's sciatica your GP may suggest an X-ray of pelvis and hips to see if there's pressure.  Can you describe it?

The sciatic pain is unlikely to be because of the HRT - it's more likely due to a lack of oestrogen.
The pain could be your uterus reacting to the oestrogen (waking up) and this might press a bit on you spine??? So it won't matter how you use HRT, your uterus may still put pressure on you lower spine.
You may have degeneration in the lower spine with a bulging disc - I have this problem and it's quite common and gives pain all down the hips and legs.   Appropriate physiotherapy and exercises may be needed and my rheumatologist told me not to sit down for too long - just keep moving. DG x
