1 month supply at mine too, I got so fed up with it and went to a private GP who prescribes me 6 months at a time.

Hi Dotty, it costs me around £100 every 6 months, that's for 12 containers of estrogel.

Abba Fan - have you thought about getting a pre paid prescription certificate? It would be cheaper.

Dotty, I work full time and don't have the time to put in the prescription, then pick it up. Sometimes, the prescription isn't ready when I try to pick it up so it means going back again. That surgery have given me the runaround so much I just find it easier to go private.

Our surgery does online repeat prescriptions and I then have it sent straight over to the local Sainsbury pharmacy so I can pick it up between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. each day or on Sundays. I appreciate I'm lucky to have a choice of pharmacy.

I get 6 months from my GP with annual check ups...I'm lucky but my surgery didn't want to prescribe HRT at all really....

Some gp practice's are changing to one month prescribing, hope mine never does as I seem to live at the chemist already!

Yes but the leaflet specifically mentions HRT as different:

Are there any exceptions?
There are some drugs which
are packaged in 3 monthly
amounts e.g. contraceptive
pills and hormone
replacement therapy (HRT).
These will continue to be
supplied in this way.

Fortunately I also get 3  months. I think the only place for a 1 month prescription is when starting a new HRT type for the first time and having a review to check all is well before putting on 3 mmonth repeat. I wonder if there are general guidelines on this or whether it is completely up to the individual practice?

Thanks Hurdity. What do they mean by 'packaged in three monthly amounts? Mine is in one monthly boxes so I guess that doesn't count? I have an annual review.

When I first started hrt I was taking Estelle and that was packaged in 3 months in a box but my patches are only a month in each box.
