Yes those are all menopausal symptoms . Can you see a different GP?

I think my reputation isn't great in general to be honest. I've been such a pain with all my aches and pains over the last few years that they're absolutely sick of the sight of me, and I can't blame them! I think I'm going to just have to try to cope and stay away for as long as possible in the hope that eventually they start taking me serious again instead of putting everything down to my anxiety. Totally my own fault ☹️

KAH - it is not your fault at all. You need to see a doctor who understands menopause. Unfortunately you sometimes have to fight for the correct treatment.

KAH, there is no way you should have to put up with these symptoms.  I don't know how you are placed financially but can you afford to seek the help of a private menopause specialist?  This comes up on here time and time again and I find myself saying the same old thing, if you don't get any joy with your GP, take control of the situation yourself and see a private specialist, it is worth every penny.

Your are clearly menopausal and you need to get it treated as soon as possible and not have your time wasted by a GP who clearly doesn't know what they are doing.  I know you shouldn't have to pay to see a menopause specialist but what else would you spend the money on that is more important that this?

Would your GP consider the combined pill? When my nausea was intense (had for months and lost 2 stone as could only drink milk) my GP said that HRT would make it worse but I could have the pill, that made it worse for the first week (as adds more oestrogen) but I knew it was right as was making it worse (if that makes sense!) and then it all stopped after a week.

The pill works by suppressing your cycle and will calm a lot of the surging.

She wouldn't even discuss it to be honest, I kept trying to explain why I thought it was hormone related but she kept saying she didn't think so!
I came away with citalapram for my anxiety so I guess she thinks everything's in my head created by the anxiety!
Mary G, I would give anything to see a private specialist but pretty sure we couldn't afford it. What kind of amount do they charge?
Can I just say thank you to everyone who has taken the time to reply, I honestly think I might have been carted off in a straight jacket if I couldn't come on here and see that I'm not alone!

You could go back and ask for the pill just for contraception, or just buy it online. You just fill out an online questionnaire. It’s just to get you through the severe nausea and then you can look at other options as I remember how desperate I was just to stop the nausea.

Anti nausea tablets made mine worse as my hormones cause gastric migraine and the meds act on the brain and stirred things up more with dizziness. The antihistamines were the best for me but made me very drowsy and then more nauseous once they’d worn off.

At this extreme time the pill saved me. This was after waiting 6 months for an endoscopy as my docs also didn’t mention hormones! Once I realised and told them the pattern with my cycles though they said it was peri and high oestrogen. Maybe you could also mention to your doc that there’s something called morning sickness so maybe hormones could be to blame...

Prior to this I also was put on a blacklist and refused appointments as they said I was coming in too much?!!! I insisted and persisted as they work for us, we pay through our taxes and so you have a right to their service.
