Morning All, I'm new here & wondered if anyone can advise me.
I had a distruped period cycle last summer which seem to end in September & dropped my straight into 24 hr hot flushes. These were stopping me from sleeping properly & disturbing my day.
After some thought, my GP prescribed Femoston 2/20 & off I trotted. 3 mths down the line & along with my hot flushes stopping all most instantly, the headaches at the changeover of the pills went.
However I wasn't feeling quite right - no sex drive.
GP refered me to a Menopause clinic where I was given testigel for my lack of libido, plus Oestrogel & Utrogestan.
Although I was still using femoston, I was told to finish that & then start with 4 pumps of Oestrogel & for the 1st 14 days of the mth, take the Utrogestan. I had a 4 days break because the pharmacist messed up. So on day 7 of this new requime & day 14 of the testigel.
I've had a
1) few headaches (I assume due to hormone changes)
2) no bleed
3) the last few days I've had 1 maybe 2 hot flushes again 😩

Is this ‘normal'? Perhaps I should just stick to Femoston?

There is a lot of info about Estrogel and Utrogestan if you go to the home page of the forum and type in these two products, you will see threads and can read how other women got on. Lack of bleeding during peri-menopause is common and also some women do not bleed on sequential HRT oif the womb lining hasn't built up enough. Yes you would have excpted a bleed normally during the 7 days after you stopped the progestogen part of Femoston. Oral HRT may not improve libido and can further depress it so you may well notice a difference here. The effects of testosterone can take some weeks/months to become apparent.

There is always a time of settling in with any new HRT and the advice is usually to try a particular type for 3 months and see how you get on.
