New to this....Hello everyone!
« on: February 06, 2019, 02:25:18 PM »

Hi  :)

I'm 45 and just started my 3rd pack of Evorel Sequi.
For the past few years I've not realised that all my  individual problems were all peri related.
Palpitations, headaches, anxiety, depression, moodiness. Even my erratic cycle I put down to my running habit! It wasn't until the hot flushes started that the penny dropped  ;D

I'm pleased to have found this forum.... and amazed at how busy it is. Just shows how common our issues are, despite no-one actually talking about it (I do).

I have started having some issues with my Evorel. Should I put that on another thread do you think...just wondering if I'm getting side effects that are not in the SPC (drug data sheet) or if I'm imagining them!! I have made an appointment with my GP, it's in 3 weeks.

Thanks everyone! Xx

Hi MayClaire

I'm a newbie too and have found so much help from the ladies on this site, I am post meno and don't use the same HRT as you but I'm sure someone will come along soon and give you some advice.

I can relate to some of your symptoms however, mainly the anxiety and depression, this is why I have started HRT, have seen some benefits but not at the moment due to other meds being tapered off but hang in there 3 months is not that long sometimes it takes a while to see a change and some ladies try different forms of HRT until they find one that suits them.

Take care  :)

Thank you for your kind advice and welcome ladies,

I think I will post my query separately. I was actually doing really well for first 2 months, really feel better generally....but now not so sure,
It's great to be able to ask you all for advice, so thank you xx

Hi MayClaire. Yes this forum has been a mental life saver for me. I would just say that it is worth finding a GP you feel understands Peri/Meno (I have found many who don't!). Also I have started using the ' call back' GP telephone service a lot more when I am anxious about symptoms or side effects. That way you don't have to worry or experiment without getting some GP input. e.g. Sometimes I have been told ' stop talking that straight away' and sometimes ' Yes completely normal side  carry on taking and update in a few weeks'. When you worry it can create a whole load of new symptoms in their own right which get worse with time.  I have also recently been to an NHS Meno/Sexual health clinic in a nearby city (3 hours away) and found that appointment really worth while as they offered a more specialist/personalised service rather than a ' cheapest option' solution.
