Testogel sachets discontinued !!!
« on: March 29, 2018, 01:36:19 PM »

I have been using testogel sachets for 6 months, 1 per week. I took a new prescription into the chemist yesterday and he said the sachets have been discontinued. He's given me testogel 16.2 mg/g gel which is much stronger. The pharmacist had no idea how to advise me on doseage if this. Does anyone else use this?

From what I've read, 2 pumps is equal to 1 sachet of testogel. So 2 pumps has to last you for a week. So I would imagine you still use a pea sized amount.

No idea ... the specialist I see said it's ridiculous to take them off the market when women need them

Surely lots of men need them too?

Yes men need them but they are putting Testogel into a pump pack which is easy for men to use but not as easy for women to get the right amount. Testogel is only being discontinued in the sachets.

Has anyone been offered AndroFeme? This is a testosterone cream specially for women and I understand it might now be available on the NHS. Dazned posted about it last summer. If it is available now it would take the guesswork out of dosage.

Private specialists are prescribing Androfeme. I think it costs £112 a tube.

Following a tip by one of the other ladies here I've been emptying a sachet into a syringe so will put 2 pumps into the syringe and see how I can spread it out. I should have thought of that before posting but it threw me. We've just got my doses sorted and it felt like they'd snatched it away. Panic over  ;D

It is totally ridiculous - it might be fine for men as they can now use less gel - but it does take away some of the flexibility for women, especially those who use pea-sized blobs.

Testogel is 10 mg per g and Tostran is 20 mg per g ( twice the strength) so that Testogel is just over half way between the two. Seems like you just need to use 2/3 of a pea sized blob to get the same amount of T (if you're using that amount). Whatever anyone is using - and gets this - use 2/3 of the old one! I'm even more determined that I can get one of the last boxes of Testim before they run out too - to keep me going for another year or so (not that I've used Testim but at least it's the same conc as Testogel).

The cream sounds good but creams are not absorbed so well - or I think more variable which is why prog creams aren't recommended - but hopefully this will become licensed for use in UK soon....
