Hrt patches and migraine
« on: April 09, 2018, 03:40:26 PM »

Hi complete newbie to this site but love reading throu topics and knowing I'm not alone!!
I have an appointment with my gp very soon to talk about possibility of going onto hrt. I have the normal horrendous night sweats (my poor husband freezes every night with no heating in bedroom and radiator turned off) daytime flushes, extreme fatigue, thinning of hair, dry eyes you get the picture the list goes on and on.!
What I would like to ask is I'm a migraine sufferer i take 20-30mg of propranolol daily for them and have read I'm probably better off trying patches or gel. I still have periods all be they're all over the place and never know when one is coming.  Can anyone offer any experience of patches and migraine like which ones they use? I know I'm gonna struggle with the progesterone as had a mirena coil and it didn't agree with me at all.  Any advice greatly appreciated  :)

Transdermal hrt is recommended if you are a migraine sufferer, I use Estrogel and have a Mirena, but I see you didn't get on with that.
