Anyone experienced any side effects to oestrogel please?
« on: October 19, 2018, 07:25:40 PM »

My go has recently started me on oestrogel. I also have a merina coil. Along with all my other symptoms I have this health anxiety thing going on whereby I convince myself I will have side effects to it such as piling on the weight which is terrifying me. Would be great to hear your experiences if possible good or bad.

Health anxiety seems to arrive with peri-menopause!

What's the worst that could happen?  As a phobic I know that health worries can take over  :'( !

Have a browse round. Make notes. Maybe put the product name into the search box on here to see what pops up?  Also, some find it useful to keep a mood/food/symptom diary to chart progress.

:welcomemm: we have a funny room too ;-)

I have used Estrogel with a Mirena for just over two years, I haven't put any weight on and the early side effects have been the benefits!

Since being on oestrogel for 6 weeks and utrogestan on a cycle, I have actually dropped a dress size and I haven't even been trying to shift any weight.  My whole body has changed shape, yet when I was on prempak before I put on weight and carried water?  It really does vary person to person Friendlygal so you will just have to see how it goes.  Some things my body doesn't like and some things I have tried have been better.  It also changes for some people as each year goes by You may be pleasantly surprised or you may have an issue with something and need to change your HRT.  Thing is; there are loads of combinations out there and no one can actually predict how we react to each one.  It's a game requiring perseverance I have discovered - a journey really...plus you need time to let things settle 6 weeks before you get a true picture and 3 months before you actually know what works and what doesn't.  I have been inpatient in the past wanting things to work in a couple of weeks mainly because I have felt so bad and I have discovered that is not the way to do it.  Stick with it, stop worrying and see how you feel in 6 weeks - as CLKD says a diary is a brilliant thing - very useful.
