Tingling...
« on: January 05, 2018, 06:29:52 PM »

So I've been having hot flushes for about 8 months...some days not too bad, other days loads and a lot of nights waking with 1-2 hot sweats. No period since May. What's started up recently and comes and goes is tingling in my arms, mainly from my elbows down  ::) but can be higher - it's not as strong as full on pins and needles and no numbness so just wondering if this is the formication and paresthesia that you can get as the oestrogen declines further that is part of this lovely menopause roadtrip?!  ;D  I'm 55.  Any similar experiences.  Dr is doing bloods for other things like ferritin, Vit D, thyroid, etc as was feeling shattered and I'm also checking my posture as sit for endless hours at work every day and not good in the cold either.  Thanks.

Hi Mary1962

Sorry to hear about your symptoms, but good luck with the blood tests.

If nothing is amiss eg thyroid then it is likely your symptoms are due to menopause and declining oestrogen - and you are lucky to have reached 55 and only just be starting to feel them - ie a later than avergae menopause :). No need to suffer though so  you maybe would like to consider HRT if there is no medical reason why not? If so - we can help you decide.
