Hi vickypk. I know we have been talking on another thread you have re: your GP issues but wanted to add to this one. I also retired to somewhere where I knew absolutely no one. I love crafts and went in to our local shop and asked if there was a group of ladies meeting up each week. There wasn't but the owner said that if I wanted to I could start a group up and we could use the upstairs in the shop each week. She started a list and when it got to four we began and we know have fourteen of us and it is great, we all do different things, knitting, card making, sewing, etc. etc and it is so nice. We are all of an age and so have a moan when we are down but usually feel a lot better for having gone and been with others once a week. From this some of us go to the cinema when there is a good film on or to other things. I also joined the W.I and again this has been great. You might find there is more than one of these. You do have to make an effort but it is worth it, I was exactly like you when we moved here six years ago but feel more settled now so be brave and give it a go.
