Help with side effects
« on: November 27, 2017, 11:25:42 AM »

Hello, I have posted once before and you were all so helpful so thought I would ask your advice again. So I have been on Evorel Conti patches for about 4 weeks and in that time I have had 2 quite heavy bleeds. The first one I just put down to normal menstrual bleed as was about 2 days after starting the patches. But now I have started bleeding quite heavily with clots again.

I have read that this can be one of the side effects and should settle down but wasn't sure whether to go back to doctors.

On the upside, my moods have lifted and I am enjoying life again and actually looking forward to things again. So I am not really wanting to stop the patches as before I just wanted to lock myself away and hide.

Thank you for any advice or personal experiences you can help me with.  :)

How lovely that you have gained some relief!  Is there any info in the leaflet in the packet?

Thank you for your answer and yes it is a relief that I feel more like me - I am a really outgoing person and have struggled big time.

The only information is that you may get "breakthrough" bleed, but this seems to be more than what I understand as this. Think I will monitor and if this carries on I will go back to doctor.

Hi pattiek

I think you have mentioned before that you are peri-menopausal if this is correct then you have been give the wrong patches and first bleed could have been your period and the second one the withdrawal bleed. EvoreEvorel conti should only be used if you haven't had a period for more than 12 months.

If you are not post meno then you should be using Evorel Seqi patches which will give you a withdrawal bleed every month and you need to go back to your GP for the correct prescription.

Pleased to hear that apart from the bleeding you are generally feeling better.
