What is your GP trying to eliminate Mini1 ?  I would resist endoscopy though some ladies might advise otherwise.

I do wonder where GPs have their heads sometimes. However, once the exam. is over you will at least know that there's nowt of note
(hopefully ;-)  ) - hopefully she will hang her head in shame!

Do you have to wait long for the appt.?

Probably a 4 wk wait for appointment CLKD. I've already had an ECG for heart palpitations. X

I didn't have sedation with mine and it was fine.

Although nausea is part of menopause for some women it is unusual to have a full feeling and no appetite so I can see why you are being investigated. I'm still surprised that a doc would prescribe a pill HRT (which can often give digestive problems) to someone who is already unable to eat due to nausea. A transdermal one would have been much better as has been said on your other threads Mini1.

If you have been given a tablet three times a day then I feel you should stick to that dose to be honest. It's encouraging that the nausea wears off by the way - I thought it was there all the time. Not nice for you.

Yes, thankfully. I had to have it a while ago as I developed anaemia and it just flagged up under the guidelines. I'd also been suffering different rashes and digestive problems so they wanted to rule out celiac too. I found it amazing to see inside myself!

  I wasn't sedated and also didn't have the throat spray. It was ok.

Myself and a friend had to have an endoscopy for nausea to rule out stomach ulcers.

Mine was a 6 month wait, my friend who lives outside of London about 4 weeks.

As an ulcer can be dangerous they check for these first (even though you're likely to have pain rather than nausea...). It must be in some NICE guidelines.

It's beyond me that doctors can see pregnancy nausea as common due to hormonal fluctuations but impossibe in perimenopause despite obvious hormonal involvement. Again sticking too rigidly to their diagnostic criteria.
