I know a couple of women who have citalopram with HRT and find this combo good. Amitriptyline is a different type of AD so I suspect this will also help alongside both the HRT and amitriptyline. Be kind to yourself. DG x

I have to try something, she said you are quick to say its the HRT but it maybe your just depressed and need a boost, she asked if I have been feeling depressed, tired, not eating properely and I said yes to all, she suggested CBT and I said no thats not me, so asked me to try the Citralopram 10mg in the morning with my HRT and the Amitrypline as usual at night, she said it will take maybe 3 weeks to maybe show any good and she is going to monitor me regular, so here goes and all I hope is it works cross fingers  :) :)

I'm on day 18 of citalopram, started on 5 mg and upped to 10mg four days ago. I woke during the night with anxiety and a bad headache. I'm wondering if the headache is caused by increase in citalopram and how long it will last because it's making me feel sick

Moonbeam, my headache has eased after taking paracetamol, hope it stays away. I was talking to a friend who is on a similar ad (last three years) she remembers headaches and anxiety every time her dose changed, but her doc gave her Xanax to take for at least four weeks when she started to take the edge off, like you I really don't want to give up and am hoping side effects will ease soon. My friend reckons another couple of weeks so fingers crossed x
