Yes good point as you say MaryG, gypsyroselee had terrible problems 're Meno depression and now has settled well I believe on HRT and an AD. So hopefully you can get a solution soon.

Thanks for all your replies - I do feel reassured that it's reasonable to continue down the HRT route, I think it's pretty likely that my estrogen level is still so low that it's going to take a while yet to get anywhere near optimum. I'm due a blood test in a couple of weeks to check how well I'm absorbing, so I guess that'll be useful information. I should point out that my cancer was triple negative, so it's no more of an issue for me to take HRT than for someone with no history of breast cancer, my oncologist certainly has no problem with it. And I have already had a private consultation with Sarah Gray in Cornwall, so unless I get to a point where her recommendations aren't helping I need to stick with it. Just feels frustratingly slow at the moment.

I think I forget that the body doesn't usually get where it is in a hurry so it will take a while for it to absorb what is put into it chemically - if that makes sense?  (Obviously a heart attack is instant but menopause can creep up).
