Can I add one to your list please, Butterfly98?

......................my absolute favourite cuddling up to one of my cats and listening to them purr  :cat48: :cat48:

 :cat88:

Nothing quite beats a cat's purr, does it, Salad?  Years ago, when our now-departed moggie was still around, I remember her draping herself round the front of my neck and shoulders at a time when I was feeling really yeuch with a virus that wouldn't go.  She lay there like a sort of warm, cozy purring poultice (!) for about twenty minutes.  It was gorgeous.

Laughed out loud at the 'purring poultice' - such a purrfect description   ;)

Dulciana and salad, I use to have a relaxation app on my phone and one of the noises was purring cats xxx

I have started making fruit Smoothies in the morning...bought a cheap blender from Lidl.  Re-reading the Nancy Drew and Arthur Ransome books I loved as a teenager...am going to buy a cheap violin for Christmas for myself as I used to play at primary school and my daughter has just started lessons.  Bought some new trainers and jeans for myself as I never buy clothes for me, always the kids. Went for Reiki....different! Oh yes... saved the best till last...I  haven't shared this with anyone in my real world but you lovely ladies of the forum give me confidence... I ordered something new and pink with batteries to help me relax as I find nothing makes me relax these days. (Got that last tip from an American friend who is very forward in her views.  She said that is how American women get through the menopause and us Brits should follow their lead)!

Roseneath that's sounding really positive and looking after yourself for once as mums always seem to be last on the list.

Hehe well that's a good idea release those endorphins.
We are quite prudish in this country and never talk about these things.
Mind every time I open the womans mag they have one on the back page!!!

Hope just tell whoever is buying it for you to warn you what it is as you may be sitting with family and I no I'd be mortified!!! Haha! Can you imagaine! I think I'd say it was a new thing to make smoothies 😂Xxx

Another thing that makes me feel good is putting my makeup on, I no not everyone likes make up or needs it but I feel and look tired without mine, it gives me confidence when I put it on.

A lot of department stores do makeovers if anyone is unsure of what suits them etc. Xxx

Interesting Buttlerfly98. I never went out without makeup and then when we retired and no one seemed to bother up here I am afraid I followed suit. Then I thought...no more.... I also look really tired without it so when I go out I have started to wear it again. It gives me confidence and last week a few people said that I looked well so I am please I am making the effort once again.

Ah that's great, I no when I don't wear people say I don't look well, but love wearing it, and treating myself to a new gloss etc.
I went through a stage of not wearing it for a few years and like you I thought no I want to wear it, for me, I feel so much more confident and feel good about myself.

Seeing my 16 year old son's beaming smile each morning makes my day, apart from me and him everyone else in our house are miseries in the morning.
He has also been very ill this year, still trying to get his health sorted,
but he just gets on with it :)
