Hi Starshine
I was on Femoston 2/10 for 2 months, one week.
At first (the first two weeks) it was marvellous, after three - four days I was almost back to my old self. My problems started on the progesterone bit - very similar to what you're describing, plus awful anxiety and panic.
On the next oestrogen cycle, the 'feeling normal' would only come back by about 4 pm. Then the next progesterone period was hell. This didn't abate even once I started the oestrogen again......I saw a gynaecologist about ten days ago (at the end of week 1, month three) and she agrees I might be sensitive to the progesterone in it.
We discussed Mirena and patches...I'm not keen re progesterone.
I asked about patches with gel etc, she's not keen on prog cream and it's efficacy.
We discussed hysterectomy followed by patches - I'm happy for this, but need to do it in about 6months when the decks (work, holidays, back to school, etc) are clear.
In the meantime she has prescribed tibolone ( says I'm post due to bloods, but last natural period was in July, so I'm assuming she's prescribing off label).....transitioning to this is a bit difficult at times (mainly due to anxiety), but I'm now taking it in the morning instead of the evening and trying to eat every three hours to see if it improves. My gp gave me Vagifem 10mcg on Friday (local oestrogen) at my request as one of the lovely ladies on here suggested to start it before I had a real issue with VA / dryness.
On Friday I requested full thyroid studies from my gp too, as many of my symptoms, since the storm hit me in June are very similar to hyperthyroidism. I'm getting results in a few hours so will keep you posted xx
In the meantime, have you considered seeing your gp, or ringing the gynae office to see if they might get you in earlier for review? Sometimes side effects become so overwhelming it's just not possible to see the three months out....hope you're feeling a bit better today xx
