Interesting. Long before the Blue Badge came into existence, I had an orange one, so I'm going back approximately 40 years. (Wow, doesn't time fly when you are having fun).
In all those years my disability and the restrictions it imposes on me have never been questioned. I have DLA at highest rate for mobility and middle rate for care.
My bb needs to see renewed on 16/09. Nothing had arrived from the Council, so I rang to ask where I had to go to renew it. Like everyone else I have to apply online. I started with the forms but felt so uck that I decided to wait until I am in a better place to do the whole thing. I'll try again tomorrow.
CLKD, you are right about everything being made tougher as a way to discourage new claims and renewals. DH got the war and peace length forms 3 times in 12 months. Each time he did his best to complete it. Then I took it over and answered each question in turn. I ended up printing out 14 pages! Then he was called for an assessment. When we were called in, my first question was an inquiry into the qualifications held by the assessor. He's a Doctor. DH is now in the protected category. We think that it was hoped he'd just give up.
If I get problems renewing I shall simply go to see the CAB.
Brighteyes.
