Please help. I am post menopausal 56. Only symptoms bladder urge and frequency. It has been very severe for year and half. Was almost suicidal. Started oestrogel 3 months. Much improved. However consultant put me on utrogestan. Said i cud either take it daily with gel  and i wud get no bleed or for 12 days every 3 monrhs but i wud have bleed.Taking 100mgs daily made me feel very sick so worried if i take 200 mgs forx12 days i will feel awful. Know this is mist natural but i want it to make me feel good. Really dont want a bleed again. Is there a good non bleed hrt with little side effects. Mixed reviews about fem conti. Will need to rake hrt forever oe bladder symptoms will return. Please help. Lising hope.

Hi Aoife,

I've tried a few with no luck. I am one week into my 5th month on Angeliq combi, this is the best I've tried however we are all different.

I can't compare as only over been on my regime, but I have Mirena coil for progestogen and oestrogel, and no real problems, initial spotting for about 4 months, but no bleeds since, and apart from occasional off day, and occasional tender breasts, can't say I notice any progestogen effects

If bladder frequency and urgency are you only  menopausal symptom have you been referred for bladder re-training and a pelvic floor assessment? This should be the first thing in order to find out why you have the frequency and urgency. Once this has been diagnosed you can then have the appropriate treatment and add in topical HRT as necessary?

The best non bleed HRT regime I had was the Mirena with Oestrogel daily. DG x
