Hi ladies,
I know they say that the average age of menopause is 52, but I would like to do a little survey here to see what age women had their last period. I'm 52 in October and still going.

Not your average case but think it was about 27/28 xxx

Can't really answer as I had a hysterectomy just before my 55th birthday, but at that time my periods were still regular as clockwork. Goodness knows what age I would have been if I'd gone into menopause naturally.....!

I have officially reached menopause at 54, this week.  Last period was July 2016 at 53. And what a one it was too!

Now, do I get anything? A certificate, a medal, box of chocolates?

Mine were still going when I started sequential hrt at 51, so I am not sure I will ever know now. 

I have no idea when they would have stopped, but according to the literature, I was at 'late reproductive' ie not menopausal at all.  and we don't seem to have late meno in the family (grandmothers were 51 and 50).

I have decided I can live with the uncertainty

Though, looking at other threads on here, maybe I need to get my hormone levels taken to make sure I am in menopause. Maybe the certificate comes with those results?!!

Yes and also a bottle of wine, a box of calms and lots of tissues. Hehe, only kidding, I'd get them checked as they can see exactly where your at xx

I had one in April aged 57 and one month and don't think it will be the last!

I don't know. I switched from the pill to HRT. I'm now stopping to,get my hormones checked as the gynae doesn't think I'm menopausal. I have all the symptoms

I was 48 and periods were erratic, don't think I'll ever know when I became truly menopausal as I went on hrt then to cope with the awfullness of peri menopause x

My dr said I would be in full meno within the next year. I've just started HRT so I'm guessing that means I'll never know? I'm 39.

Hello daisysareyellow.

I had some minor menopausal symptoms begin at 51 but my periods remained regular and heavy until 54 when they stopped suddenly never to reappear. I am 60 now and the intervening years have been eventful. I am taking Tibolone atm and my attitude towards HRT changes according to my moods!
