Hello, just thought I'd add to this thread. Ive kept up with it before and found it reassuring to read.
I'm just turned 61 now, and on conti HRT, Utrogestan and Oestrogel. Been on it for 18 months now.
It was meant to stop my periods (I was on sequential HRT and flooding, and had regular periods every around 3 weeks or so)
Much discussion about how I could not POSSIBLY be having periods at my age, had to be something wrong. Despite me explaining I never missed a period, I always got PMT before these 'bleeds' and always had the usual, for me, loose joints before I bled. Same as always...
Had a scan, all was well, told I wasnt menopausal
This new conti regimen was meant to stop me bleeding.
Fast forward to now..
Nothing has changed
STILL bleeding regularly, with PMT and loose joints (I usually jar my back etc around that time) So I know it IS a period and not just random bleeding from thick lining etc
I am taking a level playing field of hormones, not sequential, which was thought to have been making me 'bleed' abnormally.
But no. Level input of hormones now yet STILL I am having periods. My own hormones are still enough to over ride the HRT.
Anyway, every now and again I worry about it. Hence me adding to this thread. (You can tell I am due on as my bad anxiety and depressive thoughts are so bad at this time of the month!)
Every month I hope the period isnt going to come, but no
I know next time I go to GP and mention it she will again more or less tell me I'm a freak.
i had that scan 18 month ago Im betting she will want me to have another. I have severe health anxiety so it was a huge thing for me to go for that.
Anyway, just adding to this so any other late menopause ladies might get something from it...
