Hi all

Bit of a odd question but I had a TVS and US scan 15 months ago, my uterus was anteverted, I had another scan last week which said it was axially positioned. The only info I can find relates to a uterus loving when pregnant - I'm def not that! Any ideas?

I'd say it can move too, mine was always retroverted and after a difficult birth became prolapsed, I guess still retroverted but it definitely shifted !

Mine has moved but no giving birth in between ! Maybe muscles have given up and it's falling apart like the rest of me!

Reaching the menopause can also cause the uterus to change position, as the ligaments holding it in place become weaker.

Eww! Looks like something from the butcher! I've considered selling mine to the butcher - more trouble than it's worth at the moment!

I thought it was a mouth at first. I used to wish I could see inside my body to see what was going on, but this has made me realise I really don't.

My consultant asked if I'd like to see the photos from my laparoscopic hysterectomy. I said no thanks but hubby was interested!

He says he can categorically say that he knows me inside and out

Haha - yeah maybe the pert 20 something body but as it ages .... no thank you!

Right enough, it is a bit like the videos they show at school of normal lungs and then a smoker's lungs

I wonder if particular womb positions are more prone to prolapse? Mine was always retroverted but no-one's mentioned it recently on scans.

I had retroverted womb and mine prolapsed. I had a hysterectomy three years ago and things are much more comfy since but I would still have preferred to have kept my womb.

Do your pelvic floor exercises every day to ward off prolapse. http://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/uterine-prolapse/basics/prevention/con-20027708 HRT helps with this too as it keeps the ligaments strong.
