Hi that sounds more like tmj that affects your jaw teeth and ears the pain is all round usually when you're stressed you grind heavily and the pain affects the weakest tooth..I hope it'll go soon for you when you're less stressed it's such an awful thing to have
As for the private consultation is there I link on here I'd rather go off recommendation plus I don't know what I'm asking for??

Peroxide: trigenimal neuralgia symptoms can be eased by surgery.  My aunt had it done a couple of times.  A few Surgeons in the UK perform this delicate operation and your GP should be able to advise, as will the appropriate support group.  It is complicated but successful.  She had an injection into the painful area to see if that worked, after 9-10 months she was reviewed and added to the Waiting List.  She had good results on both occasions following intervention.

After I had the 1st implant procedure after the titanium pin had been inserted I had neuralgia and it took a while to put 2 and 2 together.  Fortunately the painful spasms did go.

I saw the consultant but he advised against the operation with the nerve pain being in random teeth and the mouth guards actually made my tmj worse..I spent over 600 quid getting them made as I'm private and all just moved the pain around and in some places worse...the dentist will refer you to maxillofacial unit at your hospital but there was a 8 month waiting list hence why I went private...it was worth every penny to get seen so quick even though it's not cured anything...I wouldn't go for any operation either until I get my sleeping sorted as in the few hours sleep I do get I'm grinding twice as bad and the constant sresss is making things worse. If u  an get my sleep sorted I'll see what condition my jaw is left in. I might go down the botox route in my jaw muscles first then take it from there

Trigenimal neuralgia is a specific nerve root.  It floored me  :-\ I'm sure that people thought I was drunk when I walked the  :scottie: in the late 1980s.  It was non-specific in that cold/heat didn't make it happen but would hit so suddenly .........  :'(.  I think the dental surgery aggravated the nerve, it was a mystery for a few weeks.

I couldn't bear the thought of anything in my gob - I can't watch the rugby players nor motorcycle riders removing their guards  :sick02:

Have you tried altering the angle at which you sleep?  Does the grinding wake you?

Flipping ignorant + arrogant GPs, who only know a very little, about a lot  ::)

One of my first peri symptoms was really achy ankles when I woke up. I used to limp to the bathroom when I first got up. Since being on HRT my ankles are now fine, but I do sometimes get painful wrists and fingers.

I see Prof Studd, and he confirmed that my achy joints was a peri menopause symtpom. I think I can sagelt say he knows rather more about the menopause than your useless GP.
