Menopause

Hi, my name is lynn tina and I'm 51, I'm in menopause now and really struggling. I don't sleep, anxiety is terrible, crying a lot. My knee joints are hurting, please help, I'm at a low ebb. I was on hrt, femostan,  came off that as I felt like it made me like a zombie. Are there different forms of hrt and is it better to be on hrt then off it. Any advice would be appreciated.

Have you tried the patches, I have found that you have to try a few and see what suits you best.  personally I did prefer the patches as they didn't aggravate my IBS like some of the others

Hi there, there are lots of different types of HRT - tablets, gel, patches etc - it seems to be different strokes for different folks.  I take the tablets, as does my daughter in law (she tried the patches and didnt like them although my mum got on fine with them). You need to give any options about 3 months to kick in though or at least indicate they have an effect - the hot flushes go quite quickly.

Whether its better to be on or off depends on your viewpoint - some folk are determined to do the natural way!  Personally, I'll take all the chemicals offered if I thought it would help  ;)

Good luck - let us know how you get on?  Its also good for joints too
