Is it possible to be very sensitive to hormone changes? I've been wearing a 75mcg patch, changing it every other day and been feeling really great.

Then at the weekend started feeling moody, tired and on Monday a bit anxious and lacking in motivation.

On Sunday when I went to replace my patch I found the other one had gone! Could have come unstuck anytime from Friday onwards. Then Monday I noticed that half of the new one had fallen off!

Do you think I could be so sensitive to feel this, and I'm guessing it'll go back to good soon enough?! After a really great spell I feel so gutted and upset to be back feeling rubbish again!

Some women are especially sensitive to hormonal changes.  Oestrogen acts at different levels - it has long term changes where it exerts its influence in target tissues through the cell nucleus and associated biochemistry, but also acts at an immediate level through receptors on the cell membrane, as I understand. Think of how you feel throughout your menstrual cycle - some mood changes happen within hours. It also depends where you are in menopause. If you are still peri-menopausal then your own hormones will be coming into play. I am not sure I would change the patch every other day - it isn't really designed for this. It would be better to change less often and have a higher dose if you need to.

With my patches I do tend to have a feel every now and again ( and at least every day) to make sure it is still stuck on - because occasionally with tight jeans slithered down in haste - the patches have been known to come off
