Morning all, thanks to great help on here Ive been able to,take a bit more control around my meno/hrt.
I've been on femoston conti for 5 months now having persevered as advised topping this up with half or quarter evorel 50 patches every 3/4 days. But I've been having awful and acute insomnia again which has impacted seriously on all areas of my life. I'm sure Its worse a day after putting a patch on. It feels like estrogen-progesterone see-saw. If I leave the patches off I get very irritating itching, hot flushes which wake me (if asleep) a deterioration in my gum health, large mouth ulcers, depression and feeling sedated in the day. If I use the patches I seem to have worse insomnia (won't bore you with details of that!)
I'm about to try estrogel and utrogestan on advice of specialist but am worried about dose being to high as I'm quite susceptible to most medications and am aware I'm on a low dose of hrt at the moment. (I'm 57 so dr has assumed post meno). Any advice gratefully received. Have tried to go through all the experiences on here but there's so much and I have mega brain fog. X

2 pumps of estrogel with 100mgs Utrogestan is a good combo I think - but as with all forms of HRT its a case of trying it for a few weeks to see how you get on.

Many women report that Utrogestan has calming effects and aids sleep.

Thanks for posting. This is the starting dose which has been suggested by the specialist. Am just worried it will be too much of both as It seems to be more than I'm on now with the femoston and patch. Although I have learned from here to try not to compare doses across types!
