Probably left side for me, though it can be both. One vaginal birth and scars that resemble the London Underground map!  :o

Evelyn I put this weekends flare up down to being away etc, all the stuff I listed and probably jeans too tight at the moment! All very very tiresome!

Left side is worst for me too. Strangely my left side is more inflammatory in many ways. I've just started with Yes in the little tubes. Have also used balance active gel but that's so stingy now

Stop using pantie liners  :-\  ??? ...... better to have 2 pairs of pants or sort out the leakage ?!? ......

When my bladder feels heavy then I do a re-load, presently I'm keeping it under control with Ovestin weekly.  KY Jelly keeps the outer lips moist and non-itchy.

I use Ovestin externally every night and it really sorted out the skin problems for me with splitting etc (plumps everything up wonderfully), Vagifem did nothing for that even using every night (use that twice a week now).  I actually find Vagifem can knock out the normal flora and can start up BV if I use it too often.

Gynaecologist and GP happy with this management.

Am also on Tibolone BTW.

Hi
I have posted on here before and got lots of good advice. I am using vagifem and sylk for VA. I have had VA for six months and was on vagifem twice a week but advised to go to 5 times a week in mid Jan which I did. I have made progress and was at the point of describing my symptoms as 'minimal' when on Tuesday eve, out of the blue I got a flare up.....felt so deflated. Just checking in with those of you who have got things under control...is this how it goes. I mean can any of you recall if you got these before a more continuous settling? I am not on systemic hrt and just thought I was doing so well. I had had about 3 good weeks. Looking for reassurance!!

Hi x blips are a common ocurance i take one a night i still have blips got one now ahhh
I wasn't on hrt went over at 37 hereditary.  Mini pill for 10 years in place of hrt and after a year or so ovestin that failed in 08 went on vag 14/2/08 Atrophy is a buggar xxxx

I have been on Vagifem for about 18 months and have had at least 3 bad blips, they seem to happen every 6 months or so.  Thanks to fantastic advice on here, I now do a 2 week reload of Vagifem.  This seems to really sort it out plus last month I have increased it to x 3 week from x 2 week.

Just this week I didn't feel quite right so reloaded for 4 nights which seemed to cure it.  I can't seem to tolerate Ovestin at all but at my next check up will ask for something else (without Chlohexidine - ouch).  I use Sylk after a shower every morning and now don't use shower gel and I wash my hair very carefully so the shampoo doesn't go down below.  Bit of a performance but it's better like this!  Plus I found panty liners with no bleach, perfume, just organic cotton which I use because at one stage I thought my washing liquid and softener was perhaps annoying me too.

It's all such an annoyance but luckily we can share tips here, imagine what our grandmothers went through  :'(

Ditch the panty liners?  Let the area breath ........ if panty liners are required daily then that problem requires sorting!

You have all been so helpful regarding VA, I thought I would give you an update. I am now using Vagisan on a daily basis (should I require it)  I was worried about it burning, as other creams have done. It has been a godsend. I find it very soothing, it hasn't burnt and I love it. I manage on 1 vagifem a week or even a fortnight. Maybe I am now one of the lucky ones. My VA has improved since retiring and  I am not having to sit on the small chairs in school. I hope you can all find some relief from this wretched condition. Give Vagisan a try,  I'm so glad I did. Take care all of you.

Before panty lineres were invented id use soft toilet paper inside my knickers like a pad.
I use 10m a night. Im wet inside but sore at the opening and around the inner pubic hairs
I keep myself as tidy as i can down ther but my genitalia is like a childs now.
Ive also developed  a fat pad over the upper area outside. Im not overweight well maybe a bit im 5/3 size 14 big boobs. I put it down to the Vagifem.  It makes my crotch area on my knickers very tight so it irritates me. Wear no knickers no problem.  Jeans oddly enough
Dont bother me. Lying on the sofa pulls my knickers tight down there so achy.
I keep a Diary this year im counting the days i feel 100% they are rare usually 80 to 90%
I am aware of my vagina 24/7 when it is ok i worry when its going to be sore and burny
Nerves do play a huge part if i get upset that too. If im concentrated busy not much at all
If i could go back id have demanded hrt . Its 9 years last month i got my first atrophy symptoms only consolation is if it was cancer id be long dead. But sometimes it gets so exhausting  and you just cry. But im here we all are so that in of itself is a blessing
Im in my 60s no way would anyone give me hrt so i live with it xxxx
Oh and some times i feel like ive been punched in my vaginal area like a huge bruise

Suzi, you mentioned the Mona Lisa touch thing - I've read good stuff about it. Worth a look?
Sorry you're not having a great time just now. It's the pits, isn't it?
