Have you ever done the Small Isles Boat Trip, WTD?  It goes round Eigg, Rhum, Canna and Muck, stopping to drop people off and pick others up.  We last did this trip on a totally clear-blue-sky day (a bit of a rarity in those parts!) in 1999 and it was glorious.  We stayed in a cottage on Rhum in 1982, did a lot of walking by day and saw a lot of stars by night.   Maybe if we ever went back there, that would become another of my favourite-places-in-the-world.......

A lake in the Austrian Alps near Grossglockner. It was so beautiful and pure, I just stood on the pontoon with tears running down my cheeks. (Luckily nobody else had followed me there)

I've been there too flutterby  :)well I've been to see the glacier I think, I don't remember a lake to be honest but it was back in the 80's.

Istrian Coast in Croatia because of the laid back attitude of the country.
Vancouver Island because of the whale watching boat trip I took.
Lake Bled in Slovenia because it is beautiful.

OMG flutterby you remember  It was a fantastic holiday.
I can't even swim & when they gave us a life jacket & crash helmet to put on we knew we shouldn't have booked to go on it. . I had been rafting years before in Canada but that was just a gentle slow meander down the river.

Yes it was in 2006 when I was a lot slimmer & fitter. Mind you I was a 20+ a day smoker back then. Couldn't do it now even though I haven't had a fag since 2010.

Not done the small isles boat trip dulciana but it sounds perfectly like what we enjoy doing, hope to head up there this year , finances permitting

That's great, WTD.  It's not always a beautiful day - usually, warm and waterproof clothing is needed!   It is a lovely trip, though and quite exciting coming in to land at each island.

I was very lucky and had a beautiful day when I did it last year - Eigg's the first island though so I didn't see the others. Would love to go to Rum next time. Lovely to see the dolphins.

I would have someone to make our bed every morning once I'm out of it, as well as changing the sheets/slips every 3/4 days.  In the same way as I would have a hairdresser visit daily ;-)

It took 6 months of travelling, yet another beautiful view, another mountain, even kayaking in the twilight on Milford Sound, NZ, to realise how I love my home, the village where I live and the surrounding rolling hills. This is where I have found peace. PS I love the Scottish highlands and Skye. Time for another holiday up there.
