Hi tinkerbellj,
Wow, you're having an awful time but that dosage of estrogen is huge! I'm not surprised you're feeling bad.
They put me straight on 4 pumps of estrogel and I was fine for 1 week and then all hell broke lose. I had anxiety through the roof. Manic insomnia. It was a living nightmare.
I'm now on 50mcg patch of EVOREL and coping...just.
Why are they trying to shut your cycle down? Can they not block and replace?

Joesmum   hi x no one even.mentioned shuttng down and replacing.although I asked for a hysterectomy and she just laughed. Apparently I  still am still peri. but even the pill . didn't help. I have been on 100mg evorel for 4 days. flushing a bit but not sleeping and the joint pain is off the scale. gp just throws pain killers at me which dont work and wreck my stomach. just feel.no one cares. MY consultant couldn't get me out quick enough just because im not routine or straight forward.

Hi Tinkerbellj,
So sorry to hear you are still having problems :-( It's so hard to know what to do isn't it  I am considering coming off the evorel too but scared I am going to have a major crash - fatigue and pain as it has helped these a bit.  I am very scared of doing anything too invasive anymore that I can't immediately stop or increase/decrease - just 2 months on Zoely seems to have screwed things up any more. I came off it 3 months ago and am now having horrifically heavy periods :-(

HI there all

These experiences sound frighteningly familiar. On higher (ie 50 and 75) doses of the patch I was unrecognisable, a sobbing, anxious, insomniac basket case.  I quit my job and just freaked out

On the lowest poss dose (25) I I feel 'ok' and have also upped my thyroid medication to 3 grains (Nature-throid)

I want to try Tibolone, but am having problems getting to see my GP and get a prescription, because I've seen a consultant and a menopause clinic she wants to go through them, and they are telling me 8 - 20 week waiting lists
