burning and swollen lip in the vaginal area
« on: January 16, 2017, 09:36:46 AM »

Has anyone had a painful, swollen lip in the vaginal area and if so what is the best thing to use.  I cant get appointment with GP and the pain and discomfort is getting worse.  In the past I have been given Vagifem when I had terrible itching down there and amtriptaline for the itching and tingling fingers. Any advise would be most appreciated.

Hi Unicorns are real.

This sounds really uncomfortable. When you say that in the past you have been given Vagifem how long ago did you stop it? Usually products such as Vagifem are needed for the rest of your life and not something that you can stop without symptoms returning. Is it one side of the vagina or both? Could it be a Bartholin's cyst? http://www.nhs.uk/Conditions/Bartholins-cyst/Pages/Introduction.aspx

Is there no facility for an emergency appointment at your surgery?

Big hug.

Here's a site you may want to link over to for minute, which talks about ten causes and treatments, and also suggests when it's a good idea to go the MD: http://www.enkivillage.com/swollen-vaginal-area.htmlHer
