Have a good chat with your son and ask how he feels about your interaction with your daughter?  Make notes.  Discuss ....  ;)

Yes,Guillain Barre syndrome can be nasty. My BIL had it quite badly several years ago, but avoided intubation fortunately. It did take a long time to recover, but hopefully your grandsons age will help.

Your son's advice is sensible, but not easy as we tend to feel responsible for our children's behaviour. However, she is an adult and able to choose her own behaviour. You can only control your own, thank goodness! I wouldn't want the responsibility of controlling others! You can approach her when she is less on edge and tell her you love her, but FEEL hurt when she is hostile. Don't say she makes you feel hurt, because ultimately we are all responsible for our own feelings, which are often connected to past pain. Also, she might go on the defensive if she feels she being held accountable for your feelings. Does that makes sense? ( blame this cold virus if it doesn't!)
