I can cope with the hot flushes and not knowing when I will have a period again but I'm not coping well with the dramatic mood swings, so I have been to the Doctor this morning and have been prescribed Elleste Duet 1mg tablets. She told me all the possible side effects but I am still going to try them because I want to feel like the old me again.
I have three months worth and have to monitor how I get on.
Fingers crossed.

Thats what im on Lostlady.....iv been on them for 7 weeks and theyve helped alot of my symptoms but their irritating my fibroids.
Take them with food initially as i got a wee bit of an upset tummy at first.
Good luck and im sure they will help you too xx

Interesting how we all differ Lostlady...I can cope with the mood issues, but not with the hot flushes and poor sleep.
Good luck, I hope the first one is the right one for you.

Thank you. I have now been on them for 18 days, and have noticed a change in my moods - I feel so much more positive and happy. I don't get so cross.
In the past two days I seems to have bloated considerably, not sure if it's a delayed reaction to Christmas or the tablets, so will keep an eye on that.

Hi lostlady, much the same as you. Owing to the end of 3 months. Had a few weeks when I felt really low for a few weeks after being on them for a few weeks. Hard to tell if it's helped or not with the moods. It has reduced hot flushes but they weren't bothering me that much. Think I'll stick with it though - on femoston. Hope it continues to go well for you. Anyone else's thoughts, should I stick with it? x

Am also on Elleste Duet 1mg - they seem to work for me - the night sweats disappeared pretty early on - it's been nearly 2 years now. I was like MatildaMouse, the disturbed sleep was making me weepy in the day (my boss went puce when I told him, bless, but was as understanding as he could be!). Good luck with the trial period and keep us updated
