They need lots of feeding and water.
Have you cut it back at all? Mine in the pot suddenly put on lots of new growth last week after weeks of heavy rain and a little sunshine.

Didn't cut it back, now it's too late. I will hide it away and mother it over the winter.

Don't hide it, give it some light ! Not direct sunshine for too long each day, don't we all like some brightness?
Feed it monthly. If you can, take it from the pot to make sure that there isn't any sign of vine weevil grubs!!

That needs special treatment too - something do to with minerals in the soil? which gives the various colours ….. neighbours have a lovely variety, it is pink initially and turns white on the flower edges. No room in our garden so I enjoy his!

It did flower but not much. Shall I leave it now and prune in the spring?

Roses can rock in the ground in high winds so I cut my shrubs by half, back to an out-ward facing bud. Then in the Spring if required or weather damaged, I cut them back again ……
