Hi marshytiger
Yes me too, my migraines are triggered by hormonal change, started in peri. The sudden drops and lifts seem to stimulate particularly nasty migraines. Do you have prescription drugs at the ready for when the migraines strike? If the migraines become nasty enough to frighten you you should definitely see your GP and have meds at the ready. Menstrual migraine are more difficult to treat than other migraine and the trick is always to take your acute meds as soon as the headache starts, don't hang on trying to manage. The meds work more efficiently if taken early.
I take Frovatriptan which is particularly good at treating menstrual migraine as it has a long half life and therefore better manages the rebounds that are common with menstrual migraine. I also use Diclofenac suppositories, both as soon as the migraine starts or you wake with it.
Don't panic, they are common in peri, you just need to organise a way to manage them when they strike. Good luck x
