not sleeping and mirena

I know a lot of ladies on here talk about the sedating affect of progesterone but with me it seems to lower my mood but also wind me up.
I haven't been sleeping well waking between 3/5 for weeks now , I'm shattered.
Today I realised its since I had the mirena coil put in . Am I imagining it ? Any experiences? 😒

I have slept really well since I had my Mirena, unless it is coincidence or the oestrogen that I started at the same time, but I have never felt sedated.
That doesn't answer your question though, but I did not find utrogestan sedating at all...I felt wired up to the electricity supply, especially at night
So maybe the progesterone in the Mirena is firing you up! We all seem to tick in different ways.

Are you using oestrogen with the Mirena?

Sorry to hear you have not been sleeping walking the dog.
I couldn't say whether it is the Mirena but it is progesterone that is a sedative - I'm not sure whether the synthetic types have quite the same effect, but most definitely all of them (progestogens) have the capability of lowering mood and having a depressive effect.
Maybe you need to increase your oestrogen dose slightly?
