No luck at the gp told her that my libido was suffering and could I try testosterone along with my estrogen patch she said that it would make me have a deep voice and hair on my face she upped my patch from 50 to 75 to see if it makes a difference .
Actually it's a good thing to increase your oestrogen levels first if you are well post-menopause because you don't want to tip the balance in favour of androgenic effects - although I agree your doc is talking rubbish and giving out the standard response for testosterone - about the deep voice and hairiness! I mean she should know that there are/were licensed T products for women - implants, and the discontinued Intrinsa patch.
Even though the NICE Guidelines do make provision for women to be given testosterone off licence for low libido despite HRT use, it is still their decision but if they are unwilling to do so as Rockhopper says then a referral to a gynae is in order. That being said some gynaes may also not be willing but hopefully since Nov 2015 they are becoming up to date too!
Let us know how you feel after your increase in oestrogen (after a few weeks that is...)
