Hot flushes - how will I know when they've stopped?
« on: October 04, 2016, 04:51:45 PM »

I'm 52 and started having hot flushes about Christmas 2015. Started taking Menopace tablets from Boots which helped enormously and cut down on the intensity and regularity of the flushing.

I'm still taking Menopace and it's now almost 12 months on from when they first started - and I haven't had one  - or any night sweats - for about 8 weeks.

Have they finished? Was that it? Or was that just a practice and they'll come back at me with a vengeance when I least expect them to?

Hi Sunderland99

I'm afraid you won't know for sure....but the fact you haven't had one for 8 weeks is a good sign if you are post-menopausal or nearly so. However it could also indicate your cycle restarting and an oestrogen surge prior to ovulation - have you noticed any other signs eg relating to cervical mucus or breast discomfort? What have your cycle/periods been doing and when was your last period?
