I haven't had a period since July but have been having period pain for the last couple of days.  Anyone else had this?

I think some ladies have a surge in hormones and experience period-type pains.  Is it bad enough to need pain relief?

I try not to take medication if I can help it, so no, not at the moment.  It's just a nagging ache really.  Feel like I am due on at any time.

It's the not knowing isn't it?  It feels like a period will start at any time now.  This is the longest I have gone without so keeping my fingers crossed.

I have also had this, and like Sparkle had a massive hormonal rise and fall in June with a tiny pinky brown day of discharge and then nothing. However I have had days and days of mucus so don't think it is all over yet.I think the hormones are still rising and falling in your case and there is no way of knowing what will happen next.

Hi toffeecushion,

Yep, I'm the same as Sparkle and Machair: it's the hormone fluctuations that cause this and it can apparently continue for a few years post meno. In peri all can be chaotic with the ovaries and pituitary gland utterly determined to maintain a cycle thus the pmt type symptoms with no bleed. I've found that this has calmed as my last few bleeds have been anovulatory. To be honest I've given up expecting these pesky periods to ever end, I'm just going with the flow now (no pun intended!).
