KY etc. can be bought over the counter. VA HRT is prescription only.
I spoke to a pharmacist in Boots on my way home. She said that it would be ok for me to try VA HRT but agreed with my feeling that I was more likely to have a return of the UTI because I have been feeling hot/generally under the weather some of the time. She wasn't happy that I had started taking the trimethroprim without seeing a GP again first and asked me to contact my surgery to let the doctor know. i have just stopped off there and was really lucky in that one of the senior doctors (who has treated me in the past) was available for a quick word. He was fine with me taking the AB. I am to finish it and then wait 2 days before taking a sample to the surgery to be sent for analysis. I then need to make a new appointment to see the GP again. The one which i made for this Friday has been cancelled.
