Thinking of coming off continuous HRT
« on: September 16, 2016, 11:33:25 AM »

Hi, I've posted a bit more lately, as I have a big decision to make and although VA has improved, bladder has worsened. I was put on 100mg Utrogestan and 50mcg Estradot, plus 5 vagifem per week by hormone specialist.  I have noticed a more active, surging bladder which irritates down there and after looking at posts and the internet I think the most likely culprit is the progesterone.

Has anyone changed to sequential and noticed improvement in bladder or anyone have any advice on the downsides of doing the sequential.  Many thanks for any advice.  I've only done 4 months but I don't think it's not going to get any better and it's really irritated my already senstive bladder . xxx

My bladder is irritated when I use the progesterone (vaginally). I pee more often by day and have to get up once or twice in the night - more and earlier than usual as sometimes I can sleep through on the oestrogen only part. Although I haven't changed what I use I only have progesterone for 12 days per 6-7 weeks so I do notice the difference. When I'm on the oestrogen only it's fine ( as long as I keep up with the local oestrogen).

Thanks for that, Hurdity, just wanted to find someone who had done both and noticed the difference. I think I may have to change and see if it improves. All the best xx
