Unfortunately the scan is simply part of this testing process, so I expect they will do it again anyway just because it is part of the routine. One of the reasons the NHS is in such a bad way financially is because things like tests results are not easily accessed by all departments or day to find so things are often repeated.

My mother-in-law went through whole raft of tests when she lived in Barnet but when she's was moved to a nursing home in south London they did all the tests again because it was a different health authority!!!! :-X :-\

Yes I wondered that. Anyway no harm in ringing tomorrow and telling them that I had the test done only a week ago in the ambulatory unit. They might be able to access the results and save me waiting for a new appointment.

The hospital letter says that I will have blood tests and the cystoscopy this week (and get results) but then I will be given a later date for a scan/X ray or CT Urography.

Blood in urine very common post meno both  with and without stones or infection.  I always have trace blood and all the tests were negative.  The tests on the different days you mentioned are different from each other. Cystoscopy looks at bladder and CT Uro looks for stones/tumors...likely they will be negative, hope so anyway for you.

I managed to speak to the nurse this morning. She reassured me that i had just been sent a standard letter. They do already have my clear blood test results and kidney stone scan results from last week and so I won't need to have them done again. I only need the cystoscopy done this time so hopefully they will be able to give me the all clear on wednesday without a further appointment. Fingers crossed.

I have now had had the cystoscopy done and it was clear so I thought this would be the end of it. However the doctor insisted that I had more than just a trace of blood in the urine today  (nothing visible to me at all) so further investigations needed. He has discharged me back to the GP but with recommendation that I have further tests to check the reason behind presence of the blood. I suggested  (as you said) that it was just post menopausal but he dismissed it out of hand because it is, according to him, more than a trace.
I have a GP appointment on Friday morning and I will ask her about it. i am taking a  new sample with me. I am going to try and drink more before then in case it makes a difference.  The GP practice wasn't too concerned after my previous test last week. If she wants to make the referral, I will ask whether I can have a urine test done again in about 3 weeks and then review whether I need the referral after all. I could cancel it if no longer needed.

I was really hoping to book my Berlin trip again (cancelled due to this appointment).

The urologist i saw said it was likely to be interstitial cystitis causing the blood in my urine and they don't really know why this happens!!  He also thought it could be because of the meno and that local oestrogen would be helpful.
If I had to have more investigations every time I had blood in my urine I'd be back and forth on a regular, possibly weekly, basis. DG x

Thanks Dancinggirl   I was going to suggest this to the urologist but couldn't remember the term at that moment so just referred to post menopause but he rejected it completely. I will look it up and ask the GP on Friday.

I have just looked it up. Suspect that the doctor would have seen evidence during the cystoscopy if I had this. Or perhaps not?

Just a small update. Saw GP on Friday. She was also surprised at the need to refer me to a kidney specialist. Said she would wait until the letter from the hospital arrived and then do the referral as needed.  Hoping to re-book my Berlin trip on wednesday (once I have had confirmation re. the possible wrist fracture). I don't think I have one but don't want to tempt bad luck. Need to know for sure before i buy an annual travel insurance policy.
