Planning ahead
« on: October 11, 2017, 07:12:58 PM »

As many of you know anxiety makes you worry about the future the ' what if's " and then catastrophising so one of the ways I deal with this is by having a plan . I like plans it makes me feel more in control.
I'm just finishing my first month of femseven sequi so know it's very early days and I'm not feeling any worse or any better. I had no problem with the progesterone apart from a couple of days feeling stiff. So all in all its going ok apart from getting them to stay stuck. Thinking ahead I realised they only do medium dose so what happens if I find I need a higher dose ? Does it mean I would have to change to a different patch and a separate progesterone ?
All advice welcome

Hi
Just a really quick thought, I think femseven has the same progesterone and the Mirena. So if you ever find you need to change...you could switch to Mirena and then have as much oestrogen as you like in either patch, gel or tablet.

Hope this helps x

Hi MIS71MUM
I did try a coil not sure which one many years ago and was in absolute agony. I had to go to have it removed on the same day. I remember rolling around the floor in pain I thought I was giving birth., but thank you for your response
I am reading about the utrogestan but it seems lots of ladies have problems with it  so I'm not too sure. If I did try it I think I like the sound of the estradot patch to go with it. So if any ladies are on this combination I would love to hear from you

I've been on Estradot patch and Utrogestan for years - well 6! Works fine for me on a long cycle so i don't have to take the progesterone very often. I am well post-meno though. Before that I mainly took estradot and Cyclogest (a different progesterone normally used for fertility) on a 28 day cycle. I don't like the progesterone phase but on balance I feel so much better on HRT than off it - which is the main aim we all have for HRT!

Hi Hurdity
I am definitely going to ask for the estradot as the femseven is off more than it's on. Do you think 50 is an ok dose or should I maybe try 75 ? It's the sweating I can't stand it's literally running down my face my internal thermostat is stuck on high. My mood feels a bit better throughout the day but I'm still struggling on waking with the anxiety. I just need to decide which progesterone to ask for, im taking it that provera is the same as the one in the depo and if so I had that for bc without any problems.

I can't say what will be an OK dose for you but I was on 50 mcg for years ( recently increased a little) and started in late peri. Some women find that higher doses of oestrogen are needed to eliminate sweats when progestogens are taken continuously. I have almost always taken my prog on a cycle and 50 mcg dose worked within a few days - and definitely sweats had gone completely in a couple of weeks - so if you are on cyclical HRT and they haven't abated - maybe a higher dose is needed? However if it is not sticking properly then that could also be the explanation - rather than dose. There are only 3 types of prog to choose from as separates - Mirena coil, Provera, and utrogestan (which is progesterone itself).

I think I'm in early peri as only missed one period but thinking back I've had a few symptoms like joint pain and anxiety for a good 2 years. The sweating started early this year, at least it's not waking me up during the night like it was with my hair stuck to my head lol.
I will give 50mcg a bit longer I think I'm just a bit impatient
Thank you for the advice, you should start charging you would make a fortune lol

You're welcome - those of us on here do it (give advice) because we want to pass on the knowledge and experience we've gained to help others.

Yes do give it a while longer and hope it works.

There's an entire thread devoted to the "C" word in "This and That" - so for those who want to rant or plan - you can get it out of your system  ;D

Hurdity x :)
