Hi Annie - you are on a social whirl by the sound of it so well done on doing so much.

Only two days ago you wrote this

"I think I am suffering from anxiety, social anxiety to be more precise

Pre meno I was always so sociable, Ive always lacked confidence but I happily chatted away to people but since meno I've lost my nerve.  I feel ill at the thought of a meal out, shopping, even just meeting up, I have become so solitary"

You really do sound as if you are conquering so many fears without the AD - well done. I couldn't have done half of what you have in the last couple of days. Keep thinking positive and look forward with enjoyment to the golf thingy.... and a 2017 wedding!!

Thanks Taz, I've spent so long making excuses to not go places, and it's weird but when I wrote my post I hadn't ever talked to anyone about it, so maybe a problem shared kind of halved it ?

I'm still going to my appointment with the hypnotherapist Thursday as it may help even more verbally talking about it

And the more I read on testosterone deficiency leads me to believe I'm a candidate to give it a go, something dipped during peri and it wasn't oestrogen and with no uterus that's all that's ever been offered to me

Hi Annie 0710
I had similar symptoms to you regarding the anxiety with the menopause.  About 2 years ago I could hardly leave my house, didn't want to see any friends and just wanted to stay in the house as I felt  so afraid. I had also lost my confidence, even going into a shop was a terrible experience.  I was always going to the GP and was offered ADs all the time.  She didn't think the anxiety was anything to do with the menopause, even though I had never been there for anxiety before.  I did ask, after a few months just  to give  the patches and have been on them for almost a year.  I am feeling so much better, it must be due to the patches.  I run miles every day and swim in an outdoor pool daily, seeing lots of friends all the time and can go on holidays again, thankfully.
I must have tried every vitamin and herb you could buy for years but nothing helped.
Hoping you feel better soon.

Thanks Vicky, hope you continue to do well

I went to my appointment, she's a cognitive hypnotherapist

I liked her, I cried and let the lot out.  She thinks I'm doing the right thing reducing oestrogen at least until I get this T test in September as she reckons I'm balancing everything better until I (hopefully) get the T offered

I feel better on 50mg, I said I'm reluctant to ask doc for anxiety meds at the moment as I can't deal with any added side effects and she agreed as we both feel hormones are to blame

I went home and told OH I'd been and the social anxiety I'd been feeling, he was so supportive and said he can relate but obviously he deals with it better

£60 a session and she thinks I'll only need a few as I'm doing work on the issue myself without realising it plus I'm feeling better by lowering oestrogen, ironically she was ward sister on the ward I was on in 1999 when I had my hysterectomy so knows a little what hormones can do

She wants me to make GP appt regarding the balance issues and the faint feeling when standing still

All in all a good visit

CLKD I feel better for letting it all out and for telling better half and sharing on here, I'm determined to get back to my former self or as near to as possible
