Hi, I have been on Elleste duet 1mg, for three weeks. Before I started taking it, I had night sweats approx once a week. Now I'm getting them all night, every night. I'm at the end of the first packet, so is this because my period is due? I'm so confused and emotional about it all really.  My moods and anxiety are still terrible, I know it's still early days.

Hi Debbiemc - sorry that you are not feeling the benefit from your HRT yet. It could be that your dose is not high enough? Someone will be along soon with more information I'm sure.

I see that you are on Elleste which does have norethisterone as the progesterone element. This can cause anxiety and pmt type symptoms in some women, although others get on really well with it. Have you found your anxiety has heightened while you have been on the second type of tablets?

There are other types of HRT you can try if this one doesn't suit you so try not to be despondent. Patches and gels work faster than tablets in my opinion so this may be the way forward if you do decide to change. It is advisable to try each type of HRT for three months though to give it a chance.
