My dr prescribed venlafaxine and it was horrible.  Caused diarrhea, internal shaking, nausea.  I was switched to paroxetine which has fared better.  The health anxiety remains but at least I can function better.

I decided yesterday that I wouldn't take any more of the Venlafaxine, I was feeling worse each day and my anxiety had got so all encompassing that all I wanted to do was lie down and shut the world out.  The insomnia these tablets caused didn't help with everything either.

I've decided to try an extra pump of the oestrogel for now, I'm back to see the doctor next week and will discuss it all with her again then.

This experience has made me even more afraid to try other similar medication :(

If the extra pump works, go with it for a while, let your brain chemistry settle.  There are 'as necessary' pills for acute anxiety attacks!

Re: Venlafaxine - update day 5 after stopping

5 days after stopping the pills and upping the oestrogen and I'm feeling a lot better thankfully :)

I'm using 3 pumps of oestrogel each morning and I'm actually sleeping through most nights again.  Anxiety is much reduced and I feel much improved.
